🜛 CONCORDANT GOBLIN SCHEME #1
“The Hamstring Accord”
OVERVIEW
A minor covenant enacted between 3–7 goblins under the Green Stripe, known to each other only by call-sign and stink. The scheme’s purpose is to collapse local authority through minor, deniable interference—not with violence, but with calibrated nuisance.
The goblins do not declare intent.
They do not occupy space.
They enter a barony, cause strain, and leave with leverage.
OPERATION: “FOUR NAILS TO A HORSE”
Targets:
-
One local knight (or barrow-crowned petty lord).
-
Their horse, their squire, their boots, their good name.
Phases:
-
MIRRORDROP: A goblin agent poses as a farrier. Replaces one horseshoe nail per night until the horse is lame. Leaves a mouse behind each time. (Currency? Message? Curse?)
-
BELL SNARE: Another agent attaches a subtle bell to the squire’s gear. Squire becomes locally known as “the jangler.” Trust erodes.
-
NAME-SALT: Third goblin infiltrates a local feast, introduces themselves using the knight’s name, commits petty blasphemy (e.g., eats a holy eel backwards).
-
GOSSIP DEED: Remaining goblins circulate a false Deed claiming the knight has joined the Goblin Stripe. This becomes legally true if not contested within a day and a night.
RESOLUTION
-
If the knight confronts the goblins and wins: the Hamstring Accord collapses, and the stripe loses standing in the region.
-
If the knight is discredited or defeated socially: the goblins gain a holding (usually a shed, drainpipe, or tolling-rights over a bridge no one uses).
AGENT ROLES (Suggested Loadouts)
-
Stealy 2, Crafty 1: Nail-switcher
-
Smelly 2, Talky 1: Feast infiltrator
-
Talky 3: Gossip specialist
-
Crafty 2, Smelly 1: Bell-snare engineer
CONSEQUENCES
Success spreads Goblin Concord influence.
Failure results in stripe fracture, and one agent must switch allegiance or slink away defeated.
Either way, the region remembers.
